We started the day off with a big Irish breakfast at the hotel. The selection of food items was very extensive including fresh fruit, juice, cereals, pastries, etc. This was supplemented with cooked to order hot items, eggs, bacon ( more like thin sliced ham ), pancakes, sausage, etc.
Our first stop was Galway Crystal. They no longer do the heritage tours so this was just a visit to the gift shop. Still folks seemed to enjoy looking for bargains and few left empty handed. We found an American tourist to take a picture so we got a nice group shot including our driver Tom.
At Tom's suggestion we proceeded to Limerick instead of going back to Galway, giving us a chance to see another city. From there we continued on to Bun Ratty Folk Park, where Tom left us and Seamus took over as our driver. The visit to the Folk Park began with a guided tour of Bun Ratty castle. We had an excellent guide who revealed many of the castle's secrets, like the spy holes, the "line of demarcation" on the floor of the great hall and the talisman imbedded in the castle wall that was believed to produce twins for anyone who rubbed it. Outside the castle is a reconstructed village with examples of various housing typical of medieval times. Of course once the crew discovered a pub in the village that became the center of interest. Finally it was time for us to go to dinner and entertainment in the castle itself. Hearty food and a great show made for a fun evening.

Having a good time!
